BOO! Halloween Clip It, Book and Pre-writing Patterns

Boo! Let the fun begin. Do you celebrate all things Halloween in your class? In New Zealand we have really only started getting into Halloween in the last decade. My students love it, so I made some products for them and I thought I would share. The interactive activities will engage students and they are coming to you for free! Read on to see what’s included.

Boo! Clip Cards

The first activity included in the Boo pack is clip cards. Most students love using pegs, I know mine do. Simply print, laminate and go. The product is great for very emergent learners. There is a choice of two pictures to match by putting a peg on the correct choice. It is great a way to improve fine motor skills however for more advanced learners, the other option is to circle the response with a marker. Fantastic for task boxes. If you are after more pre-writing activities check out the Fall/Autumn pack.

Boo! Interactive Book

The second activity is really the same product as above but used in a different way. Print and either laminate or staple together and read as a book. The repeated line is ‘Boo said the … ‘. You will find it to be a fun learning product for emergent readers. In order to make it even more engaging the students can clip or circle the matching picture as they read the book. The alternative is to print the book in a bigger size, place fluffy velcro on the story page and hook on the match. Students can place the matching picture on to the page. We love reading and watching Halloween based stories. Have you checked out Pete the Cat:Trick or Pete?

Boo! Pre-Writing Patterns

Another fun way to engage learners is the Boo pre-writing patterns. Cute pictures to encourage participation. To prepare simply print and laminate or, print and place in plastic sleeve. Students can use a whiteboard marker to trace the lines. Alternatively, print and students can use a pencil directly on the paper.
